Teresa is our Mom of the Month for September!
Meet Teresa, mom to Grace and Eve, soon to be Body Boost instructor, and our Mom of the Month for September at FIT4MOM Downingtown!
Teresa has been momming for five years and has been with FIT4MOM Downingtown nearly just as long!
I had a friend who was involved in Stroller Strides a few years before I had kids and I was anxious to continue working out after I had my first daughter. I looked up “stroller strides near me” and attended my first class on a crisp, fall morning in October. Valerie taught the class and made me feel so welcomed. I loved how involved the instructor and moms were in singing and entertaining the kids. I didn’t expect that. I signed up right after class :).
Earlier this year Teresa transitioned to a full time stay at home mom! Prior to that she was a Senior Director/Technical Director at a local company. She’s always been local to the area, growing up in Exton and attending Downingtown schools as a kid.
We love having Teresa and her girls in Our Village and are so excited to welcome her to the instructor team!
Q&A
What do you wish you would have known before your first child came to be?
How bad my nipples would hurt for the first three weeks of breast feeding! Paoli hospital’s triple nipple cream was a godsend!
What's your favorite thing about being a mom?
Being a big kid again and experiencing life in the eyes of my kids
What's the hardest thing for you about being a mom?
Figuring out the best ways to discipline my kids and being mindful of how my actions can influence their behavior.
What advice do you have for new moms?
Cherish all the stages, even the tough ones. They go by so fast! Also don’t be afraid to lean on family and take some time for yourself.
What’s your best mom hack?
Snacks. All the snacks all the time, no matter how long we are leaving the house for.
What's your favorite part of FIT4MOM?
I love the workouts, especially anytime we do fun team/relay oriented stations. Body boost is a great way to get a good workout in and some “me” time without the kids. Mostly I love the community. My kids never attended daycare prior to preschool at age 3, so having this socialization at such a young age was so important for them and for me.
Teresa has brought positive energy to Our Village for the past five years and we’re thrilled to have her join the instructor team!
